Grass heads of summer fun

My good friend Kathie sent these funny guys in the spring. The kids have been growing them for the last several weeks. They are having a ball with them. Aren't they hilarious?!!

A few more pics from the garden this week. Bonne sent us colorful ornamental corn, Vin and I planted it, now it is so tall and the ears are really getting to be a good size. Our one and only watermelon is now the size of my 2 yr olds head, the green peppers are almost ready , our cukes have been very good this year and our cherry tomatoes are ever so tasty!

A fun project

Well, my 2 yr old is using the same car seat my 10 yr old used. It has been through most of my kids and the cover was showing its wear. We just find this seat so easy to use, we haven't replaced it when we have updated our carseat fleet. I wish I would have taken a before and after shot, but I am so spur of the moment that I did not think about that. Anyway, I had gotten this really heavy duty upholstery fabric last summer and my 2 yr old liked it, so I thought why not? So, out came the seam ripper and a few hours later, voila!

My anniversary dishcloth

Yep, I am completely off my rocker now...any how. I tried a new stitch I have been learning on some new cotton yarn I got...so here is what I have nicknamed "my anniversary dishcloth"...only because I made it on the drive to our picnic dinner destination...on our anniversary..original aren't I?

Our 11th Anniversary

Today was our 11th wedding anniversary. So we packed up the kids adn headed for the Deam Wilderness, had a nice picnic and watched the last of the sun go down from the top of the firetower...we counted 104 steps, the sign says 124...hmmmm....where did the other 20 steps go? Happy Anniversary Mister...see we made it a lot longer than folks were bettin on!!!!
