Why must furry creatures come inside to visit?

So I got up full of energy this morning...need to do some laundry. So I make my way to the laundry room, open the door, flip on the light.....and what to my wondering eyes should appear all nestled in my clean pillows atop my dryer? Yes..this little menace. How it got in? We cannot figure it out. But my husband was soon to return home, slipped on my iron working gloves, plucked up the creature and the situation was resolved. Ick..I am not an opossum fan at all!

No, it just kept looking at me as if I were interupting it's sleep. I found late rthat it went on a scenic tour of my house, leaving treats along the way. Why do I have a cat and a dog? aren't they supposed to save me from these things?
